Our speakers this month are Lars Koersterke (TACC), who will discuss his work with PIs Duncan Brown (Syracuse) and Josh Willis (Abilene Christian University) to improve the performance of one of the largest (most resource demanding) pipelines called pycbc (python compact binary collision) for the LIGO project.

Yifeng Cui (SDSC) will discuss work with USGS PI Morgan Moschetti optimizing finite element solver Hercules on Stampede to perform a series of computationally intensive simulations for improved understanding of earthquake hazards.
