Anton 2: COVID-19 Accelerated Biomolecular Simulation Opportunity and Annual RFP
Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) is soliciting the next round of proposals for computer time on Anton, a special-purpose supercomputer for molecular dynamics simulation designed by D.E. Shaw Research (DESRES). A next-generation Anton machine (Anton 2) was installed at PSC in Fall 2016, allowing biomolecular simulations of systems of up to 700,000 atoms running nearly 100 times faster than the state of the art on traditional supercomputers. The machine is made available without cost by DESRES and supported by NIH for non-commercial research use by universities and other not-for-profit institutions. New proposals for time on this system are requested every year in the Spring for allocations starting in late Fall.
We invite you to apply and/or share this opportunity with any colleagues who might benefit from access to Anton. For detailed application instructions please go to:
The deadline for applications is 11:59 pm EDT, Thursday, July 2, 2020.
We are looking forward to your proposals.
