Recent updates from XCI
The XSEDE Cyberinfrastructure Integration (XCI) team has released new documentation that describes User Authentication Service for XSEDE Science Gateways. This document describes XSEDE’s new user authentication service enabling users to login using their XSEDE username and password, campus InCommon credentials, or other federated credentials such as Google ID. By leveraging this service, gateway developers don’t need to write their own login code or maintain their own user identity and password information.
XCI and the National Center for Genome Analysis Support convened a birds of a feather meeting at the 2017 Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing entitled “What I Wish I Had Known When I Started in Computational Science” which focused on the adoption of cyberinfrastructure tools and practices. Attendees consisted of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professionals. Key topics discussed included imposter syndrome and paths to a career in computational science.
We want your software ideas! If you have ideas on new software and software based services that would help you use cyber infrastructure more effectively, or how XSEDE could improve existing software and services, please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org. The mission of the XSEDE Cyberinfrastructure Integration (XCI) team is to enable users to leverage national CI using advanced software and services. We look forward to your input.
