What: Presentation from Virginia Trueheart (TACC) from ECSS’ Extended Support for Training, Education and Outreach reprising an Introduction to Jetstream talk where she will demonstrate Jetstream’s accessibility to non-traditional fields, will demonstrate the Virtual Machines and publicly available images. Creating, modifying and saving your own images will also be covered.
Greg Foss (TACC) will discuss (and display) his work with PI Amy McGovern from U Oaklahoma. Greg is a visualization expert within ECSS and his work focused on data mining in anticipation of severe weather with the goal of identifying tornado precursers and integrating that into an early warning system. Greg’s talk will feature graphics from a selection of three (5.7 TB) datasets, with visualization samples identifying various supercell thunderstorm features.
