Underrepresented Community Engagement (URCE)

The Underrepresented Community Engagement program focuses on engaging greater number of faculty and students from groups that are not traditionally users of XSEDE resources.

Increasing diversity is vital to America's future and is a foundation for two of XSEDE's strategic goals:

  • Preparing the current and next generation of scholars, researchers, practitioners, and engineers in the use of advanced digital technologies through training, education, outreach, and consultations
  • Raising the general awareness of the value of advanced digital research services

The XSEDE Underrepresented Community Engagement program, with the support of the entire XSEDE team, assists underrepresented minorities (URM) and Minority Serving Institution (MSI) faculty in joining the XSEDE community so that they can benefit from the resources and services provided. Our work is done collaboratively with individual researchers in support of their research and teaching goals and with institutions to promote broad adoption of computational science and data analytics in their research practice.
