NICS/RDAV Spring Training: Getting Started at UTK's NICS and RDAV Centers

This class will teach you the basics of using UTK’s national high-performance computing facility, including:
- getting an account on one of the high-performance computing resources, Kraken and Nautilus
- connecting via On-Time Password device or gsissh.
- navigating the user environment on each machine
- transferring your data and applications to and from each machine

The class will also provide an introduction to XSEDE, NSF’s overall program to support and enable users to make effective use of all the high-performance computing resources that it funds around the U.S. You will learn:
- how to apply for an allocation on any resource within XSEDE
- what services XSEDE provides for scientists and engineers who use these computing resources
