This training will be split into 3 sections:
- 9-10:15am -> R-Intro: An introduction to R including syntax, data types and structures, documentation, package installation and user interfaces. Trainees will acquire the necessary skills to navigate the basic R working environment.
- 10:30am-12pm -> R-Data Analysis: Trainees will work through a real-world tutorial on using R to perform statistical analysis. This will include how to read in data and utilize core and 3rd party R packages for conducting data analytics.
- 1-2:30pm -> R-HPC:The afternoon session will focus on how to use R effectively on XSEDE resources. In addition to learning advanced R computational techniques, such as the use of parallel processing, we will cover the basics for running R jobs in a shared HPC environment. Trainees will have the opportunity to run code on TACC’s Wrangler system.
We will conclude with an overview on how to apply for XSEDE resource allocations to support your research team moving forward.
