The focus of this training will be on programming for advanced architectures on Stampede2. We will review the basics of vectorization, discuss the importance of multi-threaded programming, and cover the importance of hybrid programming on manycore architectures.
We will also provide practical information and advice to enable experienced OpenMP and MPI programmers to enhance applications on the manycore architectures. We’ll provide recommendations regarding MPI and OpenMP task layout. Optimization methods in multithreading will be covered in depth.
We are offering this course to both in-person and remote participants via webcast. Local participants are strongly encouraged to attend in-person. For in-person attendees, this training will also include hands-on exercises on the Stampede2 system, and an opportunity to meet one-on-one with HPC staff at the Texas Advanced Computing Center.
